COVID-19: Current Situation, Prospects and Probabilities

The pandemic situation of Corona virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is considered as the most crucial global health calamity of the century and the greatest challenge for Bangladesh. Present situation point toward the need to control and manage the crisis not only in current aspects but also for the near future. Opinions by public health experts may spectacle the directions to tackle the current states. In the light of this, department of Public Health, Northern University Bangladesh (NUB) planned to organize Webinar Series on COVID-19. The 1^st Episode of the series titled ‘COVID-19: Current Situation, Prospects and Probabilities’ was conducted and broadcasted through Face book Live on  Monday, June 22, 2020 at 8:00 PM. The Chief Guest of the Webinar was Prof. Dr. Anwar Hossain, Hon'ble Vice-Chancellor, NUB. The Keynote Speaker was Prof. Dr. M Muzaherul Huq, Founder Chairman, Public Health Foundation, Bangladesh and Former Regional Adviser for South East Asia, World Health Organization. The Honorable Discussants of the program were Prof. Dr. Sharmeen Yasmeen, Chairperson, Public Health Foundation, Bangladesh and Professor, Community Medicine, Bangladesh Medical College and Dr. Muhammad Zahangir, Director, Ad-din Barrister Rafiqul Huq Hospital, Dhaka. The Session was Chaired by Prof. Dr. Sarder Mahmud Hossain, Professor and Head, Dept. of Public Health, NUB and moderated by Bilkis Banu, Assistant Professor, Dept of Public Health, NUB.
